WELL.

THIS WEEK HAS BEEN CRAZY.

There has been so much going on. Not even with missionary work, but with making sure our Zone doesn't implode.

First of all, I need to resend the package. I will do that today. I haven't found a second hand suit, but I got my suit dry cleaned! I also need to buy some new jeans. Oh, and my ankle brace broke this morning, so I need to buy a new one of those too.. UGH. But I will get all of that done today!

So, Monday was fun. We had dinner with the Meru's, our Ward Mission Leader and his wife. It was a great time to get to know them a little more! After that, we taught Kathleen about the Plan of Salvation! We didn't get much further, because she had a lot of questions about angels and what not and shared some insane across-the-veil kind of experiences! That night, we got a call from one of the Elders who was training in our Zone saying that there was going to be an emergency transfer, and President Felix called us that night to confirm that! Elder Palmer headed up to Santa Maria to be a Zone Leader with Elder DuPlessis. Elder Van, who was in my district in Santa Barbara, headed home. But, Elder Palmer has only been out 5 months. Let's just say, he was freaking out just a tad.

So most of Tuesday was spent helping Elder Palmer not freak out and get everything in order to move that night! It was fun helping him, but sad to see him go. He is an awesome Elder! We had a meeting with the District Leaders in our Zone and also the Sister Training Leaders. Talked about the Zone and how they are all doing! It was a good meeting. Had dinner with Brother Gholdston, and then had a lesson with one of our investigators, Logan! He's been super busy the past few weeks, and so we had a great lesson on commitment with him! His dad is Less-Active and his mom is Catholic, so we are trying to do all we can to help him come closer to Christ. Difficult situation!

Wednesday I was on an exchange with Elder DeGraw! We came out together, and this was my third exchange with him. Our car died that morning, so we spent most of the day waiting until we got a new battery in it. Talked with a bunch of people, and had dinner with the Bilson's! Not the best day, but we made the most of what we had! Someone had a Christmas Tree up, and so I went to talk with them about it, and they let us in to come and see it! It was fun, but they weren't very interested in the Gospel. Good contact though!

Thursday we did some Weekly Planning, and had a practice for a song we sang at a fireside on Sunday night. Families Can Be Together Forever. No one was really home after that, and we didn't have a dinner that night, but we went and taught Kathleen the rest of the Plan of Salvation! She is so awesome. She has a real desire to come back to church, but has to care for her father so much. We always have such spiritual lessons with her though. She is just ready to come back!

Friday was the day to remember. We had District Meeting, which went well. We learned about charity and the importance of having a good attitude! Then we went to Thousand Oaks to get some training on the Christmas Initiative! Mom, if you like the little teaser the Church has brought out before the actual initiative comes out on Friday, you will love the actual video! It is amazing. This Christmas Initiative is out of this world. You need to go to https://www.mormon.org/downloads to see all of the videos every day next month. I have only seen the main one. But... It's going to be crazy. Oh, and we also got news about a MISSION CONFERENCE ON DECEMBER TENTH. I AM SO FREAKING CRAZY EXCITED GAAAAAAH! Elder........ M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and President Donald L. Hallstrom of the Presidency of the Seventy will be coming to speak to the entire mission. I have been waiting for something like this! We will be able to learn from an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. And one of the best missionaries in this dispensation. I am so excited for that moment. Each missionary in the mission will have an opportunity to shake his hand and exchange greetings. It's gonna be cray. Oh, and Elder Peart and I did an awesome demo on how to share the initiative with members, and it was hilarious. After the initiative, we learned that some Elders in our Zone had their phone zonk out so we had to drive to Oxnard and back to get it replaced for them. Then we had dinner at a restaurant and that was it.

Saturday morning we woke up early to go and workout with a member in the Stake, and Elder Peart and I both were so sick. But, we worked out anyways and...........puked. Yeah, so we ate undercooked beef the night before apparently, and we were in all day Saturday. All good though.

Sunday was amazing. We talked with a bunch of people on the street that day, and Elder Peart gave an amazing talk on the Sacrament! After church, we were able to have dinner with the Chapples, and Shane invited his girlfriend, Ximena, to come and hear the first discussion! So, we taught a powerful Restoration, and she didn't accept a Book of Mormon. But, that's okay. She has her agency! We sang at the fireside, and that was the end of our week!

Hopefully everything isn't too cold at home. Things are getting down there here. We have a high of about 65 on the week this week. Yeah. I AM CALIFORNIAN NOW. I am such a wuss. I won't survive Canadian winters anymore. Congrats to Hudson on winning his big game, and making the big plays count!

Have an amazing week! Remember, the Lord is always mindful of His flock and that goes for everyone! I definitely know that God is mindful of our situations that we are in, and that if we are faithful, He will bless us more than we can imagine. We are starting to see that with our area, and I am excited to see what this week has in store for us. Happy Thanksgiving 'Murica!

Love,

Elder Harvey
